Eight short Qs
1. What is polarity vs phase?
Polarity flips a whole path 180° (Invert / Ø). First fix for wrong-wired cables, DI+mic, top/bottom. Phase is continuous timing / rotation between paths. PHIXER does frequency-aware phase rotation after hygiene, not a polarity button. Deeper: vs RX / polarity · Bedroom: alpine-fresco.
2. Is PHIXER the same as a time-align plugin?
No. Time-align delays one channel to match another (great for multi-mic peaks). PHIXER uses continuous phase rotation by band for leftover stereo L/R fights after timing. Map: phase rotation vs time-align 2025.
3. What is a null test and why bother?
Hear cancel on purpose (true L+R sum, or flip one side). Prove which bands disappear before you rotate. Habit: null test / correlation workflow.
4. Is PHIXER really a free download?
Yes. Free on Gumroad. No watermark, no time limit. Watch: tutorial.
5. Which formats and platforms?
Windows - VST3, CLAP (x64).
macOS - VST3, CLAP, AU (Universal; signed and notarized).
Linux - VST3, CLAP (x64).
6. How do I install it?
Follow the refreshed install guide 2025 for Win / Mac / Linux paths, or the classic turbo-crest install.
7. When should I skip PHIXER?
True delay/time-align problems, mono sources, and creative Haas widening. Honesty list: when not to use PHIXER.
8. Will it make my mix mono?
No. It restores mono energy while keeping usable stereo width. Use Amount + From/To on bands that collapse. Mono-check after.
